May 8 Spring 2026 Make Up Exams
Dear OALA Students,
We understand that the postponement of Friday’s final exams may be stressful, frustrating, and disruptive, especially during an already demanding finals period. We also recognize that changes at this point in the semester may affect studying, travel, work schedules, family responsibilities, and other commitments. As such, we want to thank you in advance for your patience and flexibility as Baylor works through this unusual situation.
As mentioned in the Provost’s messaging, all exams for Friday, May 8th, will be moving online. Since these make-up exams will be administered online, you may not need to use the OALA testing center if you are comfortable with the alternative arrangement offered by your faculty member and it fully meets your approved accommodation needs. Please make sure your faculty member is aware of and able to implement your approved testing accommodations.
In a situation that this arrangement does not, OALA has confirmed the makeup schedule for exams originally scheduled in the Testing Center for Friday, May 8. Please find your original Friday exam time below to identify your new date and time.
Friday, May 8 Exam Make-Ups
- 9:00 a.m. exams → Tuesday, May 12, at 11:30 a.m.
- 11:30 a.m. exams → Saturday, May 9, at 11:30 a.m.
- 2:00 p.m. exams → Wednesday, May 13, at 9:00 a.m.
- 4:30 p.m. exams → Wednesday, May 13, at 11:30 a.m.
If the assigned make-up time does not work for your schedule, OALA is also preparing the following open testing windows:
- Saturday, May 9, Monday, May 11, and Tuesday, May 12 at 7:00 a.m.
- Saturday, May 9 and Tuesday, May 12 at 5:00 p.m.
To switch to one of these alternatives, please email oala@baylor.edu with your name, your course, and the alternative window you'd prefer. We'll confirm the change and update your faculty member.
If none of these times work
If you need to utilize OALA’s testing center and your assigned time and all of the alternative windows conflict with something you cannot reschedule, please contact us as soon as possible. The earlier you reach out, the more options we have to find a workable plan with your faculty.
We thank you for your understanding as we work through these adjustments. OALA remains committed to supporting students through these changes, including flexibility with scheduling and extended testing hours where needed. Please don't hesitate to reach out to our office with questions.
Sincerely,
Dr. Hernandez, LCSW, Ed.D.
