Danny Hernandez

Dr. Danny Hernandez became the Director of the Office of Access and Learning Accommodation in October 2024. He completed his bachelors (political science and international relations), masters (social work), and doctoral studies (education, psychology) from the University of Southern California. Dr. Hernandez has had over a decade of experience in higher education as an administrator, faculty member, and trustee in a number of institutions, including Pitzer College, Scripps College, the University of Southern California, the California State University system, and Boyce College. In his time as a Dean and Director in student affairs, he led and managed multiple offices and areas that included disability services, academic resources, case management, mental health services, career services, financial aid, First Gen programs, and others. His research and teaching interests have been in the field of social work and educational psychology around matters of meaning making, identity formation, trauma and resiliency, and leadership. 

At Baylor, Dr. Hernandez is responsible for leading and providing oversight of OALA, which includes managing three major areas: accessibility services, the testing center, and transportation and shuttle services. As the Director of OALA, Dr. Hernandez serves on the Leadership Team for the Paul L. Foster Success Center as well as the Baylor Compliance Leadership Group.
